It was a pleasure to attend last December at the book launch of Jamie Dorobek in Austin, Texas. As she tells us, her experience writing and publishing their work C.R.A.F.T. has been fun and all the pieces of the puzzle fell into place easily and quickly.
Jamie is the mother of a child nearly three years old and a baby girl who was born shortly after presenting her book : ).
My experience publishing my book
I was very fortunate with my first (and only) book deal, everything just kind of fell into place. Here’s how it went down… I contacted Adams Media with a few ideas for craft books. We talked about multiple ideas, and 100 kid crafts out of recycled materials won! It took about a month to negotiate a deal, and then I started writing! I wrote, photographed, and edited the entire book in less than 2 months! It was a ton of work, and I don’t know that there is a 2nd book in my future, at least at the moment! I’ve got my hands full with a new baby and toddler!
